Y’know, it’s one thing for the Traditional Values Coalition to compare “gay propoganda” to Hitler (where do they get these people?) but now they’re going after people who are born with ambigous genitalia *at birth*. They love to promote the idea that homosexuality isn’t wired from birth , but now they’re going after people born with physical characteristics that are both male and female . I’m not sure where their ethicist is (vacation?), but there’s a huge body of ethical literature on gender-assignment surgery. (Some children are born with ambiguous genitalia, and sometimes parents, family members, or physicians “select” a sex for the child by performing surgery; sometimes, the sex selected doesn’t match with the gender-identity that the child feels on the inside.)

It’s clear that the Coalition doesn’t even understand the concept; they recommend that “Those struggling with gender confusion issues should contact Reality Resources, a counseling organization headed by Jerry Leach, a former closeted cross-dresser.” Cross dressing is not even *related* to intersex cases.

I still don’t understand how people can happily pop pills and undergo medical procedures, all of which required years of scientific method and process, and then listen to this bigoted bull.
