It’s Official, I’ll Get My MD
After a day of mal estomago, I´m feeling better, partially thanks to the fact that I found out I just passed Step 2 CS, my last requirement in order to graduate.
Back to inhaling bus fumes. It sounds like a lot of people wouldn´t mind some updates while I´m down here, so I´ll see what I can do–but start practicing your Spanish, ustedes van a necesitarlo!
I know just what you need for a bad stomach…
Some of this. (It’s kinda NSFW).
Oh, you wanted to get *rid* of the symptoms? My bad.
Congrats, and enjoy Guatemala.

Yippee! Congrats! I would love to see updates while you’re in Mexico. Another blogger/friend of mine did the same thing while he was teaching there for a year. It was awesome to learn little bits of culture about life in Mexico.
Congrats on passing! Have you phoned up your credit card and had the Mr changed to a Dr yet?
Congratulations! And as for the stomach baddies, the stuff we all used when I lived in Belize is a foul-tasting herb called jackass bitters (aka Neurolaena lobata, tres puntas, or pique-zeb, depending on your creole). Steep a few leaves in hot water every four hours or so, you’ll be clear in no time. (Unless you’re hypoglycemic. Then don’t touch it)
Hi,
I am a college sophomore and I am interested in doing something similar to the program you are doing right now. Would you recommend paying the exorbitant weekly price for such an experience? Is it worth it.
Thanks,
I don’t find it exorbitant at all here. $150 a week for 25 hours of 1 on 1 Spanish, a place to stay, and 3 meals a day? A steal. And I would highly recommend it.
