We just had a 5.6er here, felt by everyone in the hospital. Lacking any semblance of survival instincts, I randomly just start walking down the hall. Let’s hope there’s no aftershocks.

I grew up in Texas and have never lived in an earthquake zone until now (it’s rare here, so I’m told), so I’ve never even felt the earth so much as quiver. I’d probably wet myself if there was actual building-shaking going on.
You were probably doing the right thing, though–aren’t the hallways (where there are probably no windows) or stairwells one of the safer places to be on any given floor?
