Tapeworm Awesomenesss in the NEJM
I’m surprised no one is linking to this, a great colonoscopy video (how often do you hear that?) featuring yes, a big long tapeworm, alive and slithering along, embedded for your viewing pleasure from the NEJM (unfortunately you can only view it if you have access to the New England Journal, sorry):
Wow. That is way cool. And really gross!
i guess i’m going to have to throw my linguini alfredo lunch in the trash now………..
So, like, wow, you know, like I’m totally grossed out. Somebody stab that thing with a fork. And then gag me with a spoon!
Best. Video. Evuh.
How cool is *THAT*?

One reason not to eat raw fish and undercooked beef. Each segment if broken wlll make a whole new tapeworm, great way to lose weight!!!
Holy freakin’ awesome! I wonder how often GI docs actually see that.
Ew… gross! I love it!!
Thanks!!! It’s not every day day you get to re-visit some really interesting sites at the Mutter museum on tv and then get to see a colonostomy complet with tapeworm…cool! And it’s not even 1300 hours yet! Thanks!
