There Went My Weekend
Enjoying emergency medicine, but we’ll see after this 4-day stint is up. Finished a shift last night at around midnight, now I’m back on today at 10am, then 8am on Sunday, then a day off. Our clerkship director is right–working an 8 hour shift in a busy ER is like working a normal 16 hour shift on call.
No body believes us until they do it. The shift certainly feels shorter than a leisurely 8 hours on the wards though, huh?
in hungary after the night call u stay to work the next day… so u work continuously a day, then a night, then the next day again without going home:((( on the weekends u stay from 8 in the morning to 8 the next day morning… 24 hours… and imagine it in traumatiology, psychiatry, obstetrics… uh… too much i think:((( and u have to be on duty like 3-6 times a month, and many people to get more money even do 2extra GP duty also… :( not good:(
hello there :)
was jus wondering, are you still in ur third year as your profile mentions?
Coz if you are, man i envy all the stuff that you do or rather get to do! and what does clerkship means? :)
I’m a current 3rd year med student in singapore , and the word ‘clerking’ is synonymous with jus walkign around hopefully stumbling across a good case, to practice our physical examination and history taking and hopefully presenting the case to our tutors during tutorials.
Med school does sound more exciting over where you are :)
