Even China Supports Health Care as a Human Right
The UN recently had a vote about “the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health,” and the measure passed, 52-1. Guess who voted against it? China? Egypt? Saudi Arabia? No, no, no. All of those countries supported it.
The answer: The United States of America. Home of the free. How disgustingly low can we be.
Nobody has a “right” to physical and mental health. Who would provide that “right” the UN?
Don’t kneejerk, think. Words have consequences. Just because the US voted against that measure doesn’t mean it’s against good health for others in the world. The amount of $$ that the US spends on world health shows that to be untrue. Nothing the UN does is without strings attached, and I would be surprised if such a “yes” vote on the part of the US weren’t used as a stick to beat the US with if they didn’t fall in line with every crackpot scheme that bunch of “altruists” came up with. Most of the schemes would involve the US giving those countries vast quantities of money without being too picky about how the country actually spends it.
Before you judge the US, stack up what we do to help internationally with what other countries do. I personally find it a bit low to have such contempt for your country.
Say Hi to greed, politics and capitalsim.
is it attainable to give everyone that right?
if it is not attainable, then isnt it backbone not to sign on t o a proclamation that has no meaning?

it is hilarious that those who cry loudest for tolerence are the most intolerent. you insult my country and then when i respond in a way you dont care for…you ignore it.
of course you are correct. there are no other legitimate viewpoints. and you have more in common with racists, bigots and homophobes than you can possibly imagine.

Or, I just realized my comments needed approving.
well it certainly did not seem the case when the comments in later posts were approved while this post’s comments were not.
however, if it was truly an oversight i apologize for accusing you of censorship.
