Maggots Are The New Black
Congratulations, maggots, you’ve just won FDA approval. It seems that maggots may work therapeutically to help wounds heal that otherwise won’t. Just like many of the first antibiotics were from molds that had evolved the ability in order to compete with bacteria, the maggots produce their own antibiotics to kill bacteria who are competing with them for space in a wound.
Go Team Earth.
I know they work and all, but I would still find it disconcerting to know that there were maggots on my body.
Actually, it would be disconcerting to have to be the one *administering* the treatment.
“Okay, Mr. Jones… it’s time for your maggot treatment now.”
Gross.
